The 16th edition of the Parachuting World Cup was held from August 30 to September 6 in the Czech city of Prostejov, where the team "Fuxion" of Skydive Empuriabrava, national champion in the category VF-8 (Formation Skydiving with 8 jumpers), achieved a meritorious 4th position in our speciality.
Our team, made up of Ivan Coufal, Scott Stainforth, Guillermo de Arcas, Vicente Conesa, Jordi García, Juanma Castillo, Álex Flores, Segundo García and Josep Lagares thereby achieved the best position ever won by a Spanish team in the history of this category in a Parachuting World Cup.
In the category VF-8 (Freefall Formation with 8 jumpers), the skydivers jumped from the plane (Turbolet model) at an altitude of 4000 meters and had 50" in Freefall in which to carry out the maximum number of formations.
After 10 jumps, the team "Aerodyne Maubeuge" (current World Champion and France representative) received a score of 173 points and was proclaimed champion of the World Cup, followed by the representatives of Germany, who with 139 points were awarded the silver medal; the fierce battle for third position between the Spanish and Russian teams finally tipped in favor of the Russian representatives in the last rounds, with scores of 115 and 108 points respectively.
I'm including a video showing some of the jumps over the skies of the Czech Republic during the recent World Cup of Formation Skydiving.
