Last November 24th, 25th and 26th, the Cobla and String Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia SCCC offered three concerts (with all tickets sold out) at Girona Auditorium with its latest work THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS with the collaboration of the Polifónica de Puig-reig, Beth, Elena Gadel, Miki Nuñez, La Pau, Joan Garrido and Mariona Escoda.

Please find herewith enclosed my words of welcome  at the opening concert:

"Honorable councillors, vice-mayor, authorities, friends... good evening and thank you very much for being with us again in the presentation of the new project of the SCCC "THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS"

I would also like to say a very special greeting to the family of the Very Honorable President Puigdemont who is with us today... hopefully we can have our good friend and President KRLS, very soon, again, with us!

And also a big thank to Beth... who just a week ago became a mother for the third time and today, like a champion, she is with us accompanied by her mother and her little girl... thank you very much Beth...we love you so much!

Look... it was the beginning of 2019 when, from the METALQUIMIA Foundation, we came up with the trilogy "GET EXCITED WITH THE SCCC"... we wanted to make you to rediscover the best Catalan and global music all enjoying it from the heart... a project that we could not inaugurate, for obvious reasons, until June 2021 with a selection of the 25 best pieces published by the Girona record label MÚSICA GLOBAL in commemoration of its 25th Anniversary ... 

Later, in 2022, we unveiled the second project of the cycle... an emotional journey through the most soulful melodies of the last three hundred years and which have ended becoming true Anthems of Humanity... both concerts were recorded by Catalonia Television TV3 with great audience and projection success.

Today, we are proud to be able to present you the third great project of the trilogy with the concert "GET EXCITED WITH THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS", the final piece of a musical journey that will make you feel the most important Global Christmas tunes... and we do this precisely today, because in times of war, tribulations and disruptions, we need more than ever to expand, in space and time, the serenity of Christmas.

On the 15th anniversary of their first concert, here in this same Auditorium in November 2008, the project that the Cobla and String Symphony proposes this weekend reflects universal melodies where the Spirit of Christmas can be guessed ... a Spirit of Humility, Forgiveness, Fraternity and Charity... a Spirit of generous and altruistic giving that invites us to share without conditions, while forgetting the worst grudges, hatreds and vanities.
