On November 24, 25 and 26, the Cobla and Strings Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia offered three massive concerts at the Girona Auditorium (with all tickets sold out) with their latest work THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS with the collaboration of the Polifònica de Puig-reig, Beth, Elena Gadel, Miki Nuñez, La Pau, Joan Garrido and Mariona Escoda.
I enclose the words of welcome from a servant at the inaugural concert:
"Honorable Councillors, Deputy Mayor, Authorities, friends and all... good afternoon and thank you very much for being with us again in the presentation in society of the new project of the Cobla and Strings Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia “THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS”. I would also like to extend a very special greeting to the family of the Very Honorable President Puigdemont who is with us today... hopefully we can have our good friend and President KRLS, very soon, again, among us! And also a heartfelt thank you to Beth... who just a week ago became a mother for the third time and today, like a champion, is with us accompanied by her mother and her little daughter... thank you very much Beth... we love you very much!
Look... it was the beginning of 2019 when, from the METALQUIMIA Foundation, we devised the trilogy “EMOCIONA'T AMB LA SCCC”... we intended to make them rediscover the best Catalan and global music while enjoying it from the heart... a project that we could not inaugurate, for obvious reasons, until June 2021 with a selection of the 25 best pieces published by the Girona-based record label MÚSICA GLOBAL in commemoration of its 25th Anniversary... Later, in 2022, we unveiled the second project of the cycle with “EMOCIONA’T AMB ELS HIMNES DEL COR”... an emotional journey through the most moving melodies of the last three hundred years and that have ended up becoming true Hymns of Humanity... both concerts were recorded by Catalonia Television TV3 with great success in terms of audience and projection.
Today, we are proud to be able to present the third great project of the trilogy with the concert “EMOCIONA’T AMB L’ESPERIT DE NADAL”, the final stretch of a musical journey that will make you move with the most important tunes of the most Global Christmases... and we do this precisely today, because in times of wars, tribulations and disruptions, we need more than ever to expand, in space and time, the serenity of Christmas.
On the 15th anniversary of its first concert, here in this same Auditorium in November 2008, the project that the Cobla and Strings Symphony Orchestra proposes to you this weekend reflects universal melodies where the Spirit of Christmas can be guessed... a Spirit of Humility, Forgiveness, Fraternity and Charity... a Spirit of generous and altruistic donation that invites us to share without conditions, forgetting the worst grudges, hatreds and vanities.
