This year 2024 we have a different proposal for the traditional autumn concert of the Cobla and Strings Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia SCCC: a charity concert to raise funds for research into Alzheimer's disease.

With this objective, we co-organize, together with the Fundación Lluita contra les Infections chaired by Dr. Bonaventura Clotet, a very special event: the charity concert "Christmas for a New Life – We open a new horizon for Alzheimer's and aging", which will take place at L'Auditori de Barcelona on December 12 at 8 p.m.

The SCCC will once again have the voices of Beth, Elena Gadel, Miki Núñez, Mariona Escoda, La Pau and Joan Garrido, in addition to the Puig-reig Polyphonic Choir, under the direction of Francesc Cassú.

They will offer us a selection of great Christmas songs from all time and from all origins, with pieces ranging from the medieval music of Greensleeves to the well-known Christmas pieces of Ed Sheeran, Elton John or Mariah Carey.

The proceeds from the concert will enable the launch of a highly innovative study on a new treatment against Alzheimer's disease, led by the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccións in collaboration with reference organizations in our country such as the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, Irsi Caixa , Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital and the Center for Genomic Regulation.
